Those who process large quantities of scrap metal rely on reliable and efficient technology. E. Flückiger AG has been using swivel plate conveyors from our partner COIN for 14 years – with a noticeable effect on process efficiency and order at the handling site.
Intelligent distribution instead of tedious rearranging
When shredding scrap with a shear, a flow of material is generated. This is often laboriously rehandled by a material handler from a central drop cone – a process that is both time-consuming and personnel-intensive.
The swivelling plate conveyor takes on this task itself: The operator swivels the plate conveyor via remote control to the desired discharge position. Thanks to the powerful swivel drive, the tonnages are now directly transported into the bunker boxes. This prevents the formation of excessive material cones and instead creates a safe and orderly storage area that can be divided into compartments. This, in turn, allows for the processing of different types of scrap without the need to empty the compartment under the discharge in between. The conveyor simply switches to another discharge point instead.
Not only efficiency, but also workplace safety benefits from such systems.

Adaptable to the situation

For smaller material flows that are transported into different containers, a swivel chute from Coin can be used. These are characterised by their cost-effectiveness and simplicity.
Thanks to the sensors at the edge of the chute, the level of the bunker can also be monitored - and switched manually or automatically.
